The Country's Best Yogurt

This weekend was quite relaxing...friday afternoon we hung out at the pool at matthews apartment complex and then went to the Alabama Baseball Game! We played kentucky and we won, even got to see a 8th inning grand slam to secure the win and fireworks to top it off!

I admit it...lately I have been OBSESSED with TCBY! oh my goodness its so bad and really good that I did not realize the obsession until now! We went friday after the game...i got this one (the cheesecake shiver) but they made it funny and it was a slight disappointment so what did I do..go back saturday night to redeem myself. its really an addiction i should take care of

But Saturday we hung out by the pool at the university Rec center...it has a lazy river and such so it was alot of fun and then of course we were back at matthews apartment to OF COURSE watch the NFL draft...and i mean for hours on end we watched it "And with the 87744584754389735734534th pick the New York Jets take....." Over and over again although I was very interested as well. Props to the alabama boys for representin us well.. Andre Smith, Glen CoCo, Rashad Johnson, and Antoine Caldwell... cant wait to cheer yall on!

Sunday was church, studying, meetings.....this is "dead week" before finals..so let the fun begin!

Dave Matthews Band....

For Matthew's valentine's present I got us Dave Matthews Band tickets! Last night was the concert and it was GREATTTT! While there I realized I did not know as many of his songs as I thought I did, but nonetheless it was a great concert and had so much fun! It was in the Verizon Wireless amphiteatre in Pelham(birmingham), AL! Its outdoors and the weather was great and you could get a great view of the stars and "city lights" surrounding us! We went with our friends PJ and Katie....Dave has alot of instruments used with his band. a few we saw were violin, guitars, drums, trumpet, saxophone, flute...and many more! It was quite entertaining! I feel as though my horizon of music has been broadened and i am so glad!! here are some pictures from our night!

The awesome violinist! (see on the screens)
Dave and the city around him!

The great stage setup!

A-Day weekend!

This weekend was the annual Alabama spring football game "A-Day" There is many different festivities but obviously the biggest part is the Crimson v. White game. Well its taken quite seriously here...you might say "your just playing yourselves..." but here in alabama they will take any opportunity to show their pride and love for alabama football. There were people tailgating, they had their RV's and tents out on the quad...from the outside looking in you would think it was any other game day weekend! But I love it!
Also, this weekend...a girl in my bible study group up here just recently got engaged and so we threw her a small little engagement party brunch! Maria and Jaclyn did a wonderful job cooking and everything was soooooo goood! It was all around a great weekend!

Lauren and I at the brunch!

Gorgas

I am currently sitting in Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library....which for those of you who dont know, is the central library here on campus! Also known as my home for the past year....I live in a dorm that requires study hall hours each semester and I am actually almost done with the number of hours i need....But I am done with the work I needed to do so I am just sitting here..blogging trying to waste another 20 minutes or so and hoping my computer wont die.

Last night at The Well, the speaker was GREAT and not to mention hilarious. The music was awesome as always and they even sang a new song that they have introduced to us recently and its called "Mystery" by Charlie Hall...its really good.

OMg, I love american idol (as stated before) but this weeks show was alright some of the contestants were up and down but Kris Allen was just AMAZINNNNGGGG! I was glad they saved Matt because he has done well and I like his music but next week 2 are going home and its disco week so they better all watch out!

Going to eat at the usual buffalo phils tonight....tthey take "dining dollars" haha

Easter

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! It is such a symbolic time of death and rising of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I had a pretty long day beginning with 7:30 mass with my dad and then breakfast..followed by church with my mom and mike...then lunch at matthews house with his family. Then back to moms to hang out then over to Mike's dad at about 3:30 to hide easter eggs for the little ones and eat..AGAIN! Then left about 530 to go get matthew and head back to T-Town..but what do you know... the masters was in the playoffs so we didnt even leave until about 6:30. Which means we did not get into town untill 11:30. A very long day....
Here are some pics to show of the weekend at home....

American Idol..

Well I LOVE this show...always have and probably always will. I am really impressed with this season..when I was writing below I was watching the results show, so now the results are over

just a history of my love of the show... I Love Carrie Underwood and I loved her the moment she auditioned!! I am a big david cook, daughtry, and many other idol alum fans.

Tonight Scott got voted off which I thought was good but kinda saw it coming....But I personally like Kris Allen (alot) and then Danny Gokey alot as well and Adam Lambert is just incredible, almost a league of his own..Matt G is reallllly good too. I have a bunch of favorites but they are all very different.. Allison is good too! I really just about like them all! haha!

I think I am getting the hang of this.

Well, it has been a busy week which means it has gone by fast, which then means that its almost the weekend and we do not have class on friday for "honors day" thus...I get to go home TOMORROW for Easter weekend!
But Tuesday I had an honor society meeting, then an honor society induction ceremony for the education honor society Kappa Delta Epsilon and then extra credit opportunities at the public speaking speak off..so it was a busy night
On wednesdays this semester I have been mentoring 6th graders at a local middle school in Tuscaloosa..well the tuscaloosa county schools decided to wait and do spring break AFTER Easter well needless to say the kids are going stir crazy (as any child would be with no break since Christmas) I mentor two girls Raven and Kelsey. They crack me up....Kelsey saw one of the other mentors out at the movies the other night and she claimed she did not say hello because she did not want to hurt his "game"....At the end we often go to the gym and instead of playing I tend to sit and watch all the kids play..I am telling ya, if you ever have a chance sit and watch a bunch of 6th graders let loose on each other it can be quite comical.

I am currently watching American Idol (AI) which I am obsessed with...I am sure I will post more on that later. But tonight we went to the The Well at Calvary Baptist...it is part of the college ministry Relate that I often attend. It was GREAT as always and I even applied to become part of the leadership team..so who knows what might happen there.

Sorry for blabbing..this gets kinda fun after you get going!

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

Here it goes again..

Well, I have tried this once but felt as though I failed and got frustrated because I could not work it properly. But I have decided to attempt again as a way to keep up with my life! So who knows...

Well, right now I feel kind of in a slump with school work. I just went through a round of tests in most of my classes and dont really have any tests until finals which are just short of a month away..scary I know then I will be officially done with my first year of college. Crazy I know, high school seems almost a century ago and it was only a year!

Today we registered for football tickets! YAY, I am a lucky one that recieved the full home season package..woohooo! Roll Tide!!
