Flash Mobs

So in the past couple of months the flash mob frenzy has hit an all time high...or at least I am more aware of it. The definition of a flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse. If you type this into YouTube a ton of videos will come up. I will just say that I really desire to see a flash mob live...or even be a part of one and I am not kidding. They are so awesome!! Here are a couple of my faves from YouTube...

Glee is my favorite show, thus making this flash mob (above ^) awesome because they danced to all Glee songs. But also there is just so many people...I love it!

What a classic from The Sound of Music...this is awesome in a train station I think? But I just loved it and all of the people and kids involved, so cute!

I love this one...well I love this movie, this song, and this dance. I also think its awesome being at Ole Miss in the student union. There is hope for me.. maybe I can coordinate one. Oh wait, one thing... I have ZERO rhythm.

A trip down memory lane...

My brother is getting married next Saturday and I am responsible for creating a video for the rehearsal dinner. The video includes pictures of the bride and groom growing up, pictures of them and their friends and family, then pictures of just to two of them. Well in creating the pictures of my brother I have come across some old gems and I thought you all might be humored to see them as well.

I absolutely LOVE this picture for many reasons 1) it contains the "puppy" form of my beloved Rosie. (I have had Rosie since I was in 1st grade and she is still going strong - she is the best dog ever and I will debate it until the end of time, she is MY baby!) 2) it does contain my "biological" siblings in our younger, untamed hair and bad clothing states!

This pic I think was taken at an older cousins wedding rehearsal dinner back in the day. Check out my cool tie-dyed skort I am sure. I loved skorts in every way shape or form.

What do ya know...I grew up on those white sandy beaches so inevitably we took the classic white/khaki family beach portraits. Here, us kids, even pulled off the walking pose while we all held hands like we loved each other =) don't worry we do really love each other..this picture just cracks me up!

This last picture is just a funny picture of my brother and I. This was taken during my senior year in high school when I was on the homecoming court (why I have a long hunter green dress, haha!) and if you look very closely then you can see the hog pin that I have attached to the top of my dress. (as in the university of Arkansas hogs..it was a Saturday and they were playing a big game against Auburn and at that point I was certain I was going to be a future hog..oops! =) )My brother and I are known for our crazy posed pictures and it does not help that my future sister-in-law is a professional photographer...check her out here! Thus, as she has to get her lighting and settings all correct for whatever she is shooting...Corey and I opt to be her subjects. That could be a blog post in it self..all of our crazy pics.

All in all, I am so happy for Corey (my bubby) and Erin as they begin their life together! There is a sense of sadness, but a good one, as I feel that I'm giving MY bubby away but giving him to a wonderful lady!

Oh Honest Abe...

I am currently taking a class in the interim term which means that I go to class Mon-Fri for three weeks straight from 9am-12pm. And the class I am taking..(get this)is the Life and Legend of Abraham Lincoln. The picture above is the biography of Lincoln that we are working our way through. So yes, I will have read this entire biography in a short time frame of less than three weeks. Holy Moley...all you history buffs should appreciate my effort and is anyone wants to know anything about ole honest Abe then hit me up. I can at least give you the books to figure it out =) because who knows if I could actually answer it.

we have to read about 60 pages per night and we have quiz every morning at the strike of 9am. The quizzes are no broad terms or generic facts, they are in depth and require full names when identifying people, specific dates and even quotes. Who am I kidding, that is a piece of cake having 60+ pages to draw it from. =) At least I am halfway done with the class..Wednesday is the midterm and then the next Thursday I will take the final! I guess it all balances out..then its onto the Irish in June. Give it up for the history majors!

Best Grocery store buy.

This week while shopping on publix, I did the normal "un-necessary" walk down the ice cream isle...I had been eyeing this certain brand of gelato and sorbet multiple times before. Well what do you know, they were on sale for BUY ONE GET ONE FREE! Well heck, I bought two! I chose Belgium milk chocolate and roman raspberry..and let me tell you they are FABULOUS!

Seriously, this is the best store-bought ice cream I have ever purchased and I want to try all of the flavors seen in the picture. Publix sells them..not sure where else but I recommend that you give it a shot.

DRIVE 2010

A week or two ago I was able to attend the Drive Conference at Northpoint Church in Alpharetta, Ga (ATL).It was an awesome couple of days. I met up with some staff and volunteers from Beachside Community Church from Fort Walton. They are a strategic partner of Northpoint and I am going to be working an internship with them at the end of the summer. This conference is for all types of church leaders and volunteers and is filled with awesome main sessions, breakout sessions, ministry exhibits, and fun games. It is basically a giant overview of Northpoint...how they do things? why they do them? and just a time for leaders to come together and get some great ideas and information in all areas of ministry.

I had an awesome time and cannot wait to work with Beachside this summer!
