21...really? Mexico, here I come.

Now by that title, one could only assume...

On Monday I will officially be twenty-one years of age - can you sense the excitement? - All 21 means to me is that I can get into casinos, get into any bar type area and uhm.. get a horizontal drivers license in the state of Florida?

Haha, birthdays are exciting and I am happy to celebrate it but this year I get to celebrate mine doing something that I love...Matthew and I will be traveling to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico on Sunday to meet up with a group that will have arrived a day before us. On this trip we are getting the opportunity to take a group of pre-teens and teenagers from Casa Hogar Elim on a mission trio of their own. This is an idea that has been in the works for a while and I am so pumped to be able to see it play it and even better getting to do it in person...I will be phone-less for the week but may have some moments of Internet access, if so, I will update on here so check it out next week to see whats going on in PV!

So there is a good possibility that I will be lacking sleep the morning after my 21st birthday but probably not for the reasons some would expect.

This weekend is the big Alabama-Florida game and I will get to see my mom and step-mike, Chelsea baker and Nancy newell (2/7)...not to mention my wonderful friends and boyfriend here AND eat cake! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and of course, ROLL TIDE! =)

This past weekend Matthew, myself and our friend Garrett ventured into Hog territory. It was overall a very fun weekend. We stayed in Conway and visited with all of my family (on mom's side). Here are some pics to chronicle our weekend....

This is Garrett as we tried to find where we parked in Fayetteville, Garrett said he could hear the banjos playing.

We felt like we were in a scene from deliverance.

Matthew, my cousin Hart, and Uncle Craig

That would be Matthew and I with THE Barry Switzer

Awaiting the start of the game...

Dad invited Matthew and I to sit with him in Spook's box (my dads bff), it was a great atmosphere...well besides being surrounded by Arkansas fans while we were losing for most of the game...

Cousin Hart...he USED to be my little cousin? After his football game on Friday night where the Conway High School Wampus Cats were victorious.

In case you were wondering... THAT is a wampus cat.

Garrett was amused at the Wampus Cat and really wanted his picture, do you know what a wampus cat is??

Anna's Cupcakes!

Earlier I posted some pictures of cupcakes that I made this summer (and got paid for!!) for Anna's first birthday. Here are some pictures of them displayed at the party...These pictures are courtesy of Anna's parents and they set up everything, all I did was bake!!

I am impressed with how they turned out, I am also glad I went with the pink icing!!

Whoops...those were apparently a little burned on the edges...

It looks like I need to bake and hire Ashley as a set designer, she did a great job displaying them!

I hope Anna had a great birthday and I want to thank Keith and Ashley Williams for being brave and hiring me to do such a job. (I told them that if people complained to say they came from Publix!)

I have had a lot of friends and family tell me at different times that they keep up with the blog, not that I am very consistent with it, but nonetheless.

I have a request...if you do read this at all, regularly, or looked maybe once click the follow button on the right hand side of these posts. I like to be able to see who is on here and what not. I would greatly appreciate it! =)

Love you much, Toodles, and Roll Tide!!

A new thing...

This semester I have begun a "new thing"...journaling. I have never been a journal-er or kept many diaries but my mom sent me back to school this semester with a goody bag and in the bag was a journal book. She included a sticky note saying she wished she had journal-ed when she was younger and thought I should do so...so what the heck, why not. I cannot say that I am the best at doing so but I like to use it as a time of reflection and have even begun journaling prayers. I find this helpful because I can keep track with what I am saying and have said as well as maintain alert and focused.

Thus far, I usually journal every night once I get in bed - okay well, most nights. It averages to about 4 nights a week...I consider it progress!

I feel as though it has been forever since I have baked or blogged...I need to pick up the pace, like for real. =)

Alabama Football? Sure, Why Not!

Well anyone that knows me, knows a couple things for sure...

  • I love the University of Alabama

  • I love Alabama Football

  • I love Football in the Fall

  • I love playing Fantasy football

  • I love THE FALL!!!!

    • Football season has begun and I just love it. There are some downsides...such as the traffic of about an extra 100,000 people in Tuscaloosa. Sitting in the student section which means that we have to get to the stadium approximately 2-3 hours before kickoff in order to get a seat. But no need to be a negative nelly... here are some things that I love about Alabama football...

    • The pre-game videos

    • Nick Saban's intensity

    • The fight song

    • Scott Cochran, his 4's during the entire 4th quarter

    • the fourth quarter "basket case" song

    • mid-game pretzels

    • face stickers and buttons

    • my shaker (pom-pom)

    • no cell service ...Oh wait, that is something I do not like?

      • the list could go on and on..but instead I will share some recent pictures, they are all from my blackberry because at the last game rain was eminent and I did not want to ruin multiple gadgets at once.

This picture is not on a game day but it is in the location of Coach Saban's national championship statue

We were really close for the Penn State game, go get 'em boys!

Well hello, The Million Dollar Band!

Way to go Alabama fans, I counted at least FOUR Antoine Dodson signs at the game and I am certain that they all got TV time!

Three of the greatest college coaches of all time, Joe Paterno - Nick Saban- and Bobby Bowden

        Bobby and Nick!
Toodles to all and ROLL TIDE!!

        New signature?

Okay I am trying this again...

        Happy Friday!

        New signature?

Trying to see if this new signature thing works?

        Happy Friday!

        Coupons, coupons, and more coupons

So this is my new obsession and hobby, that's right, coupons!! A friend of mine was continually "tweeting" about her amazing savings at the grocery store and I asked her to teach me her ways. And that is how I came about the couponizer...the couponizer is a great way of organizing and strategically coupon-ing. I have decided that the best way to save is strategy.

I think I squealed out loud when last week I went to publix (who have the best 2-for-1 deals) and spent $15 dollars and SAVED $18. You read that correctly... I saved more than I spent. The cashier laughed at my joy of the savings and I am in love with the hobby. Sunday's are very exciting because in the Sunday paper there is just endless coupons and it gives me something to do besides homework.

I know how corny this is but you can save so much by planning and clipping those coupons!

        Have a lovely day, toodles!!
